click image above to download part III of Hip Hop History

Welcome to Part III of Juggernaut Radio's exclusive coverage of our Hip Hop Anthology, where we actually chronicle the time line through the music we love called Hip Hop. As the 80s progressed, we saw various changes in Hip Hop as music companies started to see the validity of the profitability that this music generated. It was a time when females came to the forefront, gangster rap was born and love ballads became big sellers! Continue the journey with us as we pick up right from where we left off from the last show with artists like Run DMC, Salt N Pepa, Schooly D, Beastie Boys and Joe Ski Love. Hip Hop was here to stay, and it was only getting better...

Does it really seem that long since 'Pac has been gone? You wouldn't think so because his music is still as relevant today as it was some 15 - 20 years ago when he originally recorded. Suga Cz of Juggernaut Radio recently took some time to reflect and share with our audience the influence, the passion, and the appreciation of one of MUSIC'S most influential artists of the twentieth century. Sit back and relax as she drops hidden gems, mixes, classics and more as we all celebrate the life of Tupac Amaru Shakur. He lives on through his music... and we continue to live to listen to it.

JUGGERNAUT RADIO - WU!

click image to get your shaolin fix

The Wu-Tang Clan was assembled in 1992 with RZA as the de facto leader and the group's producer. RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard adopted the name for the group after the film Shaolin and Wu Tang. The group's debut album loosely adopted a Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang theme, dividing the album into Shaolin and Wu-Tang sections.

The Wu-Tang Clan first became known in 1993 following the release of the independent single "Protect Ya Neck", which immediately gave the group a sizable underground following, especially after their tour with Kat Nu and Cypress Hill. Though there was some difficulty in finding a record label that would sign the Wu-Tang Clan while still allowing each member to record solo albums with other labels, Loud/RCA finally agreed, releasing their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), in 1993. This album turned out to be critically acclaimed, and to date is regarded as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. The success of Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers established the group as a creative and influential force in mid 1990s hip hop, allowing Ol' Dirty Bastard, GZA, RZA, Raekwon, Method Man, and Ghostface Killah to negotiate solo contracts. RZA spoke on the Wu-Tang Clan's unorthodox business model:

"We reinvented the way hip hop was structured, and what I mean is, you have a group signed to a label, yet the infrastructure of our deal was like anyone else's. We still could negotiate with any label we wanted, like Meth went with Def Jam, Ol Dirty went with Elektra, Rae stayed with Loud, Ghost went with Sony, GZA went with Geffen Records, feel me? And all these labels still put "Razor Sharp Records" on the credits. Wu Tang was a financial movement. So what do you wanna diversify...? Your assets?"

JUGGERNAUT RECORDS EXECS STRETCH THE LIMITS WITH THEIR NEW WEBSITES

Cheryl Allison presents MEDIA BY C.L.A.

"C.L.A. is all media by myself (Cheryl L. Allison) and a wide variety of a creative eye, determination to learn as much as possible and positive energy. This actually took me by surprise. I have always loved to seize a moment with photography but when I was put into a position of being the only one in my record company (Juggernaut Records, LLC) to do artists photography… I really started to own what it is I was doing. I am also a self taught graphic artists on Adobe CS5 in the last two years, so this goes very well with photography touch ups. C.L.A. is one of the greatest goals I have done thus far. I am very appreciative to the individual who have supported me on this venture."
