J. Dilla (aka JayDee) is a staple in the annals of Hip Hop History. His "old soul" samples and off kilter percussion has made his production more sought out than many average producers. Jay passed away in February 6th, 2006. Four years later his posthumous releases are still praised and used by hip hop, r&b and neo-soul artists everywhere.
