Most Hip Hop heads in the world already know about what happened just a couple of days ago when Guru (Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal) aka Keith Elam suffered a massive heart attack February 28th which led him to a coma. He was scheduled to undergo surgery just yesterday. The surgery itself was reported a success and he is now recovering.
Guru is definitely a pioneer in the crossover of Jazz and Hip Hop. He's had great success with his partner DJ Premiere as the duo Gang Starr and his own solo efforts through a series of releases called Jazzmatazz (of which he's recorded four volumes). Many of us have come to know him through his music and we all are unified in wishing Guru a speedy recovery. Let's keep him and his family in our prayers.
